Why I’m a Team Beachbody Coach

I get questions from time to time from friends and family about why I’m a Team Beachbody coach.  They might think I’m a little crazy about my workouts and nutrition (which might be true!), but they don’t fully understand the coaching aspect all the time.  So I wanted to tell you all why I’m a Team Beachbody coach.

To give a little background, when I first started out using Beachbody products, I had no idea what a coach was.  I had never heard of one, so I was completely unfamiliar.  I had always been interested in P90X, but at the time I didn’t have weights or a way to do pull-ups, so I couldn’t do it.  Then one day I saw an infomercial for Insanity, and since you didn’t have to use any equipment, I decided to give that a try.  It’s funny how seeing one infomercial can have such a big impact!

If you do any Beachbody program, you know before every workout, the lady tells you to go to teambeachbody.com and log your workouts into WOWY, so you can win up to $1000.  After hearing her say that for a couple weeks I decided to log on to log my workouts and to check the message boards for tips and advice.   I always checked out the photo galleries to see people’s before and after photos, and one day I ran across some amazing results one guy had.  He posted a link to his Youtube transformation video, which was super motivating!  I wanted results like him, so I decided to check out his website, and officially made him my coach so he could support me through my transformation.  So that’s how I found out what a Team Beachbody coach really was and what they did.

After researching a lot and really thinking about it, I decided I wanted to become a Team Beachbody coach myself.  And here are the reasons:

1) Coach’s discount:
Honestly, I first signed up for the 25% discount on Beachbody products.  I knew I wanted to try Shakeology, and with the 25% discount for being a coach, I knew I would save more than it cost to be a coach every month.  I save $30/month on Shakeology, and it only costs $15/month to be a coach, so it was a no-brainer.  Plus I knew I would be making other purchases through Beachbody, like P90X, ChaLEAN Extreme, P90X Results & Recovery formula, etc.  So I knew the discount was worth it.  This was not the biggest reason for becoming a coach, but initially it’s what was important, because my transformation wasn’t quite where I wanted it to be.

2) Passion for working with people:
This is my real motivator.  I love working with people.  I love getting to know others and I love helping people in areas that they might need advice.  If I can help just one person take control of their health, then this is all worth it!  It’s so encouraging to see someone truly transform themselves, and I get to be a part of that every day!  I consider it a huge blessing to get to motivate and help other people every day.  Our team has grown slowly over time, and it’s just so cool to see people connect and build a community where everyone has a similar goal.  I’ve always had a passion for working with people, and I’ve always had a passion for fitness, so this is just a natural fit for me!

3) I believe in the company and their products:
If you are unfamiliar with Beachbody, check out my article Who is Beachbody? .  Beachbody’s mission is to: “Help people achieve their goals to lead a healthy and fulfilling life.”  Now that is a mission that really resonates with me.  Beachbody is truly a company that has integrity and has the best interest of the public in mind.  They are not just trying to make a buck.  They are all about ending the trend of obesity in our society, and they go about business in the right way.  I could not be prouder to represent Beachbody!

Not only do I love how the company operates, but I know their products work.  How do I know?  I’ve seen the results myself!  I’m extremely passionate about fitness, and I know Insanity works, I know P90X works, I know Shakeology fuels my body with what it needs and wants every day.  I can say that they work, because I have the experience.  I’ve lost 35 lbs. and have kept it off thanks to these amazing workout programs, supplements, and community!  I never feel like I’m just trying to sell someone a product.  I’m merely recommending what I know works.  I am confident in these products and truly believe their is no comparison out there.

4) Financial compensation:
Yes, this one of the reasons I am a Team Beachbody coach.  I get paid to help people get fit!   Am I all about the money?  No way!  But it is a great aspect of the job.  I put a lot of time into helping people out, answering questions, writing articles, sending out weekly check-ins, etc., and I get compensated for doing so.  My dream is to eventually have this be my full-time job.  And I know that’s possible because I know people who have made it happen.  But the fact that I get paid doesn’t change what I do.  I still only recommend products that I have used and believe in.  In all reality, if I was just doing this for the money, I wouldn’t still be doing it!  At this point my hourly rate isn’t that great, but I don’t care!  I know it takes time to build a successful business, and I am confident that will happen with persistence and consistency.  Beachbody has a great compensation plan, which is definitely a perk, but it’s not my main reason for being a coach.

So there you have it.  I became a coach for several reasons.  I knew I would use the 25% discount on Beachbody products, I have a huge passion for working with people and helping them out, I have a passion for the company and the products because I know they work, and I get paid for all of the above!  It’s an awesome combination!  When I started my fitness journey, I had no idea what it would turn into.  I just thought I was doing a completely crazy workout routine!  But almost a year from that point, I am helping others get their health on track just like my coach helped me.
