Weekly Check-In

Happy Wednesday Team!

I hope you’re all having an awesome week!  It seems like Wednesday can always be a turning point for motivation in a week.  You can either get tired and slack off the rest of the week, or you can get energized by the momentum you’ve built from the beginning of the week.  I’m hoping you’re in the second camp!  If you’re not, this would be a good time to check in and focus on what you want to accomplish this week.  We are personally in our second week of P90X3 Phase 2 and I’m loving this week!  My second time through a workout is always better than my first, because I know the moves and can really focus on picking the right weights and having proper form.

My success tip this week comes from John Maxwell’s book, The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth.  On page 69 he says, “Motivation gets you going, but discipline keeps you growing.”  I think this is critical to understand.  Ever start a workout program, all excited your first week, but then fall off the wagon before the month is up?  It’s incredibly common and mostly happens because people lose their motivation.  But the thing is, it’s not about being incredibly motivated all the time, it’s about being disciplined to stick with it even when you’re not motivated.  I personally really enjoy working out, but there are certainly days when I would rather get an extra hour of sleep in the morning.  What gets me out of bed is the fact that I’ve disciplined myself to stay with my program.  I set a goal that I want to reach and know it takes consistent effort to get there.  So don’t believe the lie that you always have to be extremely motivated.  Motivation is good, but you need to be disciplined if you’re really going to stick with something.

This past week I posted on a topic that can greatly affect your motivation, especially when you’re getting started.  And that’s about having support at home, whether that’s from your family or your spouse.  I know a lot of people struggle with that, so feel free to check out my tips on how to deal with some negativity at home: Support At Home.  Tony Horton also posted a burpee challenge to my Coach, and I thought the response was good.  So if you didn’t see that, you can watch it here: Friday Fun.

21 Day Fix Update: Demand for the 21 Day Fix has been unbelievable.  It’s been so high that Beachbody has completely run out of stock.  So the base kits are on pre-order.  You won’t be charged today, but rather when it ships, which is supposed to be sometime in March.  The Challenge Pack orders are being shipped first, and right now there should only be a 7-10 day wait on those.  They’re receiving new stock this week to fulfill those orders.  The Challenge Pack is by far the best deal, as you’re basically getting the 21 Day Fix for $10.  That lasts through the end of the month, you can check the details out here.

And 2 favors that I ask:

1) If you like the hard work I put into writing my articles and video, PLEASE help me out by sharing them.  Click the share links below them and share them on FB, Stumbleupon, etc.  It really helps me get more exposure and grow Team New Body!

2) Also, as always, remember that the way I benefit from being your coach is that I earn a commission from any Beachbody products that you purchase, as long as you buy them through my site, www.teamnewbody.com, or by logging in to www.teambeachbody.com to do your shopping (If you buy from the plain beachbody site I get no credit). It helps with the amount of time I spend answering all your questions and helping you out. Thank you! I really appreciate it!
