Weekly Check-In

Hi team!

I hope your weeks are all going great!  I know we’ve been crazy busy here, but I’ve been doing my best to stay on track with my workouts and haven’t missed one yet.  One thing that makes it a little tougher for me is that it feels like we’ve officially hit winter here.  It’s been snowing, is pretty cold and it’s pitch black out when I get up.  That can make it a bit of a struggle to hop right out of bed at 5 a.m. but it’s something I know is just a little more of a challenge in these months.  Do you find you struggle at all in the winter because it’s colder/darker?

My success tip this week is nutrition based and pretty easy to follow.  If you struggle with portion control, use a smaller plate to eat off of.  You can basically trick yourself into eating less if you do this.  Many dinner plates in the U.S. are just massive, and people tend to fill up their plates.  So as you can imagine, that leads to people piling on more food and therefore eating more.  If you use a smaller plate, it will still look full, but you’ll end up eating fewer calories.  It seems like a simple idea, but it works.  So give that a try this week if you’ve been struggling with portion control or your nutrition in general.

This past week I didn’t get as much writing done as I planned.  I did write about the dangers of bulking.  I’ve seen people fall into the trap of thinking it’s ok to eat whatever they want just because they’re trying to put on muscle.  Don’t let that happen to you!  I’m also about 90%  done with my Focus T25 Gamma Phase review.  So look for that coming out shortly.
