Weekly Check-In

Hey Team New Body!

I hope your August is off to a great start!  Isn’t it crazy that summer is nearing it’s end?  I feel like it just started…  Hopefully this means that cooler temps are coming for those of you who have been suffering from some crazy heat waves.
And has anyone been watching the Olympics?  It simply amazes me at what the human body can do.  I’ve seen a lot of swimming, gymnastics, etc and it’s just amazing at how these athletes train themselves to prepare for this event.  And I think the crazy part is that for most of them, you really don’t hear about them until the Olympics come around.  So they have 4 years of hard training, although I know they have competitions frequently, but the general public doesn’t really get to know them until the Olympics start.  It just made me think about how we train.  If you workout at home, it’s a lot less public than being at the gym.  The privacy is nice, but you really have to stay motivated yourself on your own goals.  I think motivation can be really tough for some people.  One way that I know many people motivate themselves is with competitions.  Competition can be hard when you’re working out by yourself though 🙂  But one thing that many people do is sign themselves up for a race like a Tough Mudder or Warrior Dash or  some other event like that.  So if you thrive on competition and want an event to put yourself in, think about finding a competition to enter into.  It could be a 5K, marathon, Tough Mudder, etc.  Just make it something that will motivate you.  I know we’re not Olympians, unless someone has failed to mention that to me, but you can still find great competition out there which can be very motivating!
As you all know, I’ve started Body Beast this week and I’m 2 days in.  It’s definitely a different program than I’m used to, but I love it so far!  I put up a quick Day 1 review on the site, and I’ll keep you updated on my progress and thoughts as I get further into the program.  It came at kind of odd timing because I was trying to bulk up a bit with my P90X P90X2 Hybrid, which you can see the results of here: Hybrid Results.  And now I’m on to more bulking.  So we’ll see where this takes me, but it’s fun and I can always do more of a cutting routine after this 90 days.
I also posted some info about the Beachbody Coaching opportunity.  Many people give me a hard time about it being some sort of pyramid scheme, but they just don’t really understand what I’m trying to do.  The company is on a mission to end the trend of obesity, and I get to be on the front lines helping to win that battle!  That’s exciting to me more than any paycheck  could ever be.  I get to work with an awesome team (you guys!) which keeps me motivated every day.  If you’ve thought you might want to join me and pay it forward to others out there, I would be more than happy to talk with you about it.  It’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made and am very passionate about it so feel free to shoot me a message!
As always, I love hearing about your success and your struggles.  I’m here to support you, so reach out to me!  Let me know how you’re doing and what I can do to help!\

And 2 favors that I ask:

1) If you like the hard work I put into writing my articles and video, PLEASE help me out by sharing them.  Click the share links below them and share them on FB, Stumbleupon, etc.  It really helps me get more exposure and grow Team New Body!

2) Also, as always, remember that the way I benefit from being your coach is that I earn a commission from any Beachbody products that you purchase, as long as you buy them through my site, www.teamnewbody.com, or by logging in to www.teambeachbody.com to do your shopping (If you buy from the plain beachbody site I get no credit). It helps with the amount of time I spend answering all your questions and helping you out. Thank you! I really appreciate it!
