Weekly Check-In

Hey Team!

Happy Wednesday!  Sorry I’ve missed a couple check-ins, it’s been a pretty crazy month around here.  I hope you’re still plugging away and working towards your goals.  I’ve found that this time of year can be really difficult for a lot of people.  I don’t know if it’s because summer is winding down, school is starting or something else, but it just seems like people tend to fall off the wagon a bit in late summer/early fall.  But don’t let that be you!  Your health is too important and your goals are too important!

I mentioned it before, but I’m part of a group called “Year Of The Beast” and the motivation has been unbelievable.  There’s under 300 of us now, but it’s one of the most laser focused groups I’ve been a part of and it’s super fun!  The plan is to stay strong for the entire year.  The cool thing is I’ve heard they’re opening it up every 90 days if new people want to join.  So if you’d like to tackle Body Beast with us, let me know and I can keep you up to speed about when that would happen. There are plenty of guys and gals in the group, so all are welcome!

My success tip for this week falls in line with one of my latest posts about comparison.  My tip is to compete with yourself!  It can be really tempting to want to look like someone else or have a person whose physique you try to match.  But what I’ve found is that doing that can really kill your motivation.  Instead of worrying about looking like someone else, focus on getting yourself healthy and in shape. When you do that, I think you’ll have a much better chance of staying motivated and can be proud of what you accomplish as you make progress.

One article I posted since my last check-in I really think is worth a read.  It’s called Diets Don’t Work. I’m sure you’ve probably had some ups and downs with your weight over time, I know I have.  That article just takes a look at why diets don’t work and what a better route would be to see long term success.  So give it a read!
