Weekly Check-In

Hey Team!

Now that we’re back from our 10 day excursion to Peru, I wanted to send another check-in to see how everyone is doing!  We had a blast on our trip and took advantage of the time to experience a new culture and unplug from the busyness of our daily lives.  It was a much needed time to relax and I couldn’t have asked for a better trip.  I even got to show off my crane at Machu Picchu for you P90X fans (pic below).  That being said, it’s nice to be home and get back into the swing of things.


To my surprise, I actually lost 3 lbs on the trip, but I guess we did walk a ton as we were checking out ancient ruins and touring the cities we were in.  Since we were gone for 10 days and I didn’t want to lug around sweaty clothes the whole trip, I relied on the walking to get my exercise in.  But I now realize how hard it can be to get back into your workouts after being gone or not doing them for quite a while.  So my success tip for the week is that if you’ve fallen off the wagon a bit and are having trouble restarting, set a specific day and time for when you’re going to jump back into things.  I did that this morning.  I knew it was going to be a bit rough, but I told myself that I needed to get right back into things after getting home.  So my first morning back started with a workout like a normal day does.  I definitely noticed that I had taken some time off, but it felt great to get my heart rate up and the sweat flowing again.  I know that’s what will get me right back into my groove.  So if you’re going back and forth trying to figure out how to start again, stop wasting time wishing you had restarted and just set a day/time and commit to following through.  You’ll thank yourself when you get going again and the workouts start to get easier.

We’re also about a week away from Team Beachbody’s Summit, which is an awesome yearly event mostly for Coaches.  What comes with that is a lot of new announcements.  This year, we know that Chalene’s new program PiYo is going to be released, and I know we have a lot of Chalene fans on this team.  I’m excited for that as it’s going to be a great, low impact option for people who struggle with bad knees, backs, etc.  There are always surprise announcements too, so I will do my best to keep you all in the loop!
