P3 Training in P90X2

Clearly a lot of time and research has gone into making P90X2 an elite workout program.  One thing I’m particularly excited about is the P3 training in P90X2.  Dr. Marcus Elliot is the originator of P3 training, and if you check out their website, you can see that what he’s doing is very advanced and is helping professional athletes perform better in their respective sports.  I wanted to highlight one P3 athlete, Jeremy Evans of the Utah Jazz.

Here’s a video of the type of training they do at P3.  If you’re familiar with P90X2, you’ll notice that some of the exercises in the video are the exact same as in the PAP workouts.  They started working with Jeremy pretty much right after he was drafted, and here’s an example of what he does with them:

Jeremy Evans was the winner of this year’s Slam Dunk contest, and in case you missed it or don’t know who Jeremy is, this video will show you what he can do:

In a few weeks I’ll be starting the Performance phase of P90X2, which is when the P3 science is really applied.  Do I expect to be able to dunk like Jeremy Evans after I’m done?  Not quite, but I am excited to see what kind of improvements I can make with this new training technique called Post Activation Potentiation (PAP).  I’ll keep you all updated with how the progress goes, but I wanted to share this because it’s juts another reason I love P90X2!
