October Check-In

Hi team!

I hope October has been going well for you! It’s been a busy time in our household and a lot of exciting things have been happening. Plus it’s been beautiful out with cooler temps and fall colors so I can’t complain about much 🙂 I’ve switched my workouts up a bit from the 21 Day Fix to a P90X/P90X2/P90X3 Hybrid. It has introduced a ton of variety into my workouts, and as Tony says, variety is the spice of life 🙂

That leads right into my success tip for this month. If you’re getting bored with your workouts and seem to be lacking motivation, change what you’re doing! Doing the same old routine day in and day out can get monotonous. The last thing you want is to feel like you’re just going through the motions. So try something outside of your comfort zone, do a new program, or just increase the intensity of what you’re doing. If you have resistance training in your routine, when was the last time you upped your weights? If you don’t mix it up, you can easily adapt to your workouts and won’t see as much progress as you’d like.

Before I get into other updates, I wanted to share one piece of very exciting news. My parents completed 2 rounds of the 21 Day Fix and their results have been amazing! My mom lost 20 lbs and 17.5 inches and my dad lost 15 lbs. Their dedication has been incredible and it gets me pumped up to see them both have so much success! The 21 Day Fix has been a game changer for a lot of people and is on sale this month as well so you can check that out here if you want more info.

There have been lots of updates in the Beachbody world as well:

  • BOD – Beachbody On Demand keeps getting better. They’ve released workouts exclusive to BOD. Sagi has gym workouts that are incorporate new moves not seen in Body Beast and Autumn has released workouts specifically for pregnant women! I think that’s pretty cool! There is one workout for each trimester and then one for after delivery. Obviously you want to consult with your doctor if you’re pregnant, but to have specific workouts that are designed for you is huge in my opinion. I hope they continue to expand that collection.
  • Hammer & Chisel – Sagi and Autumn’s new workouts is just a couple months away from being released! I will absolutely be doing this and cannot wait for December.
  • Hard Corps – Just announced is a new program from Tony Horton. It’s based on his workouts he does when visiting different branches of the US Military. They’ll be 22 minutes long and will pack a punch. Release date is March. So there’s a little time to wait on that one 🙂
