Next Round Goals

It’s been two weeks since I finished up P90X2, if you missed it, here are my P90X2 Results.  I was very happy with my results and really loved the program.  And if you’ve been keeping track, my plan for my next round is to do a P90X P90X2 Hybrid.  I was originally only going to take one week for recovery, but I ended up taking a second week because I was out of town for work and didn’t want to start the round on the road.  Needless to say I was itching to get started, and I did yesterday.  And since I started, I wanted to fill you all in on my goals for this round.

Next Round Goal #1 – Bulk

This round, I do plan on putting on a little size.  I don’t want to add a lot of weight, but I’m shooting for about 5-10 lbs.  I ended my last round right at 185 so ideally by the end of this round I plan on being right at about 195 lbs. but keeping my body fat low.  That’s going to require eating at a calorie surplus and making sure my calories are all clean!  So I’m planning on eating right at about 2600 calories per day and I’ll be tracking everything with myfitnesspal on my phone.  I’ll write an article about that in the coming weeks as well.  You can even add me on there, my username is tmuellenberg so you can help keep me accountable!

Next Round Goal #2 – Strength

I designed my P90X P90X2 hybrid with this goal in mind.  I really love P90X2 and think it’s an awesome program, but because many of the moves require a lot of balance, I’m not able to lift as heavy as I would like to really add a lot of strength.  It’s great for overall, functional fitness so I love that, but I want some good old fashion heavy lifting too.  So I’m planning on lifting heavy, especially in the second phase of this hybrid to really add strength.  I have a weighted vest that I’ve used a bit in Plyocide, but I plan on using that more for pull-ups and push-ups as well this round.  From what I’ve read it’s a great way to bust through plateaus in getting stronger.  My ultimate goal is to be able to do 20+ dead hang pull-ups.  So I’m very excited to give this a try!

So there you have it, those are my two main  goals for this round.  I talk about goals often, so I wanted to be transparent and let you all know what my next round goals were.  I’m also super excited because I’ve got a group of people doing another 90 Day Challenge with me.  It helps a ton to have a group to motivate and push me to reach my next round goals.  If you want to join us it’s not too late, just leave a comment or shoot me a message!
