Greenberry & Vanilla Shakeology Review

vanilla shakeologyTeam Beachbody made quite a buzz at this year’s summit when they released a new flavor of Shakeology, Vanilla.  People had been asking for this for a long time, but finding a healthy, natural source of vanilla flavor was not easy.  Not long before that, they also announced a reformulation of Greenberry Shakeology.  So since those two flavors have come out, I wanted to give you my review of both of them.

New Greenberry Shakeology

The old Greenberry was not a popular flavor to say the least.  Many people complained about it tasting like grass or just too “green” and not enough “berry”.  So Beachbody listened, and they decided to reformulate the flavor.  Honestly, I did like the old Greenberry, but I knew it was in the minority 🙂  Even though I liked it, I was open to a new flavor.

So I gave it a try and I would say at first, it wasn’t what I expected.  I tried it with 1 cup almond milk and 1 cup water.  I didn’t want to put other things, like more fruit or juice, in so that I would get a good idea of the true taste.  It took me a little while to figure out what I thought it tasted like, but it finally hit.  The flavor really reminds me of the berries in Cap’n Crunch.  Now it’s been a while since I’ve had that cereal, but that’s what it reminded me of.  So I have to say they hit a home run here.  It is much sweeter and I think it has the berry flavor that people are looking for.

Vanilla Shakeology

Next to releasing the vegan formulations, this was by far the biggest announcement around Shakeology that I’ve ever heard.  I can’t count the number of times that people have asked me if there is a vanilla flavor.  Like I mentioned earlier, it was incredibly hard to find an all natural, non-gmo, healthy source of vanilla flavor.  All other vanilla flavored powders out there do not have natural flavoring.  This is literally the only product that does, so that’s pretty cool!

It took Beachbody a while to release it because they would not compromise the health of the shake.  Also, I mentioned this in my original Vanilla Shakeology post, but I was a part of the taste panel for Vanilla Shakeology.  So I knew it was coming, but I had to keep my lips sealed 🙂

Now that it’s out, I was excited to try it.  I’m not a huge vanilla fan to begin with, I much prefer chocolate, but I wanted to see how it tasted at least.  I have to say, as far as a vanilla shake goes, this is by far one of the best tasting ones I’ve tried.  There is no weird aftertaste and it’s not overpowering.  It’s just a smooth, natural vanilla taste.  So if you’re a vanilla fan, I really think you’d like Vanilla Shakeology.

Free Samples!

So here comes the exciting part, I have samples!  I understand that Shakeology is an investment in your health, and you may want to try it before you order.  So I have decided to give out free samples, as long as 3 things are true:

1) I’m your coach. If I’m not, you can make me your coach here.

2) You’re serious about ordering as long as you like the taste.  This costs me roughly $7, so if you’re just in it for the freebie I would appreciate you respecting this rule.

3) You’re new to Shakeology.

Again, I can totally understand people want to try the new flavors, and as long as the above is true, I am more than happy to send you one.  Just email ( me your address and what flavor you’d like to try.  (I have Chocolate and Tropical Strawberry too)  If you’d like to try more than one, I do offer Shakeology Trial Packs, which I think are a great way to go too, so that’s an option.
