Did P90X, Now What?

You’ve given it your all with the workouts and finally completed the whole 90 days of P90X and feel and look great, but now what do you do?  This is a common issue with people doing the program, especially with 90 in the name.  From what I’ve seen, many people might start with the goal to just finish the program, but once they have, they realize they want to keep doing it!

I think having the goal of finishing a program like Power 90, P90X, Insanity, Turbo Jam, etc. is an awesome goal to have right away, but if you just go back to old habits after finishing the round then you’ll end up right back to where you started before the program!  There’s no question that you can get great results in the 90 days of P90X or the 60 days of Insanity, but it’s also true that you can gain lots of weight back in the following 90 days if you quit working out and start eating garbage again.

So if you’re at the point where you’ve finished your first round, then you have a number of options.

1) If you absolutely love the program you did, then you can always just do another round.  So if you did the Classic version of P90X, then you could start round 2 of the Classic version, because often people have more weight to lose than the pounds they drop in the first 90 days.

2) If your program has another program for those who have graduated, you can always try that out.
– If you did Power 90, you could move on to P90X
-If you finished Insanity (or P90X) you could try Asylum (I absolutely love Asylum)
-If you finished Turbo Jam, then you could try Turbo Fire (both from Chalene Johnson)

3) If you finished P90X and really love the routine but would like some variety in the workouts you have a couple options.  Tony says it often, “Variety is the spice of life.”
-Incorporate P90X+ workouts into the Classic routine.  These are 5 additional, somewhat advanced workouts for P90X grads.
-Incorporate workouts from the Tony Horton 1-0n-1 Series.  Tony puts out 1 new workout a month which you can use to substitute for other workouts in your schedule.  I love the 1-0n-1 series because it really does allow me to change things up and the 3rd volume also previews some  of the workouts for P90X2!

4) Create your own hybrid schedule with workouts from different programs.  If you want to see an example of what that looks like, you can check out my Round 2 Hybrid.  I personally love the P90X lift days and the Insanity and Asylum cardio days, so I mixed and matched the routines to give me the best of both worlds!

And one more piece of news, P90X2 is coming out soon!  It’s first going to be released only through coaches.  So if you’re itching to try the new workout, you would have to order it through me or another Beachbody coach.   Or you could become a coach yourself and get the 25% discount.  That is supposed to happen in September, and then it will be released to everyone sometime after that (not sure how long of a wait it is)  I know I’m going to be one of the first people to order it so I can’t wait!

So if you’re looking for something new to do and to keep things fresh the options are out there!  Keeping your workouts new and exciting is a key to keeping up with your transformation and continuing to lead a healthy lifestyle.  With all the options that Beachbody provides, there’s no reason anyone should get bored!
