Team New Body Bootcamp Day 2: “Get Yourself Prepared”

2) Choosing A Fitness Program:

Choosing a fitness program can be tough. There are many options out there, and while P90X is really popular, it might not be right for you. I wrote a whole series on this, so I would recommend checking out, Choosing The Right Workout Program for more tips and to go over which program might be a good fit for you. So take a look at what each program offers and make the choice based on what you think will be a good fit for you and your goals and also based on what you will enjoy. Beachbody also makes it super easy to get everything that you need bundled together. The cool thing is that it even SAVES YOU MONEY in the process by bundling together your workout program, supplements, a VIP Club Membership, along with FREE SHIPPING on everything. Beachbody calls these “Challenge Packs”. These are a great option for getting started right!


3) Choose Your Fitness Equipment

If you have chosen a program like TurboFire or Insanity, then all you need is a DVD player and a water bottle. If you want to do a program that includes resistance training, like Power 90, P90X, or Chalene Extreme, then you will want to pick up a set of resistance bands or dumbbells. I personally like dumbbells and have invested in some adjustable dumbbells, but I know that doesn’t fit in everyone’s budget. Resistance bands work great, so if that’s what is in your budget, that’s fine. You will also want a pull-up bar for teh more advanced programs, but of course you can substitute with bands. There are also lots of other cool pieces of equipment you can get, like Powerstands, Jump mat, medicine balls, stability ball, but none of those are necessary. 4) Document Everything!!!

It is incredibly important to document not only your progress, but where you start from! Each Beachbody program comes with fitness guide that has a “fit-test” to document your measurements, physical abilities, weight, body fat composition and photos. Photos are absolutely critical. Take them every 30 days and from all angles. It’s important that you document where you started so you can physically see the changes you have made. Your progress pictures are going to blow you away. Not only can you use this as motivation for yourself, but you can use your results to help motivate others as a Team Beachbody Coach if you wanted. Your photos could even land you a spot in an infomercial!
