Choosing The Right Workout Program

workout programFiguring out what workout program to follow can be a very tough decision for many people.  There are quite a few workout programs out there, but which one is right for you?  Is P90X the right workout program?  Or is there something else that would be better?  I get asked for recommendations on what workout program to choose all the time, so I wanted to do a short series where I would lay out some good options for different situations.

The right workout program really depends on your fitness background, your goals and what gets you excited and keeps you motivated.  So hopefully this series will help you choose the right workout program for you.  In this series I will cover different types of workout programs and who might benefit from each.  The categories I’m going to cover are:

Workout Programs for Beginners

Short For Time?  The Quick Workout Program

Workout Programs That will Build Lean Muscle

Intense Cardio Workout Programs

Workout Programs Ideal for Athletic Performance

Low Impact Workout Programs

Ultimately, the workout program you choose has to be fun.  You have to enjoy it.  If you don’t enjoy doing it to some extent, you’re much less likely to stick with it.  Personally I love how Shaun T motivates me during Insanity and Asylum, but I love Tony’s sense of humor in P90X and P90X2.  They’re both very different, but I really enjoy both of their workout programs.  I really do look forward to my workout every day, so it feels like less of a chore and more of something I get to do.  My goal is to help you get to that point too.  Where you’re doing the workouts because you like doing them and instead of dreading your workout you actually get excited to do it.

So stay tuned  as I go over these different categories, and if you’re still struggling to figure out which workout program would suit you best at the end of the series feel free to leave me a comment here or join my team and I will help you out!
