Assault Review

assault reviewI’m an early morning workout guy, so sometimes it does feel like I need a little extra kick to get going in the morning.  So it can be really helpful to use a pre-workout (PWO) as they are intended to get you focused and energized for your workout.  I’ve tried a number of different PWO’s in the last two years and have found that some work better than others.  But the latest one I’ve tried is Assault by MusclePharm.  So I wanted to write up a quick Assault Review.

Assault Review – My Experience

I decided to give Assault a try because a co-worker told me he really liked it.  I always like personal recommendations, so when it went on sale I decided to get some.  What I like about it is that it’s got creatine, BCAA’s, and some other important ingredients like L-Arganine.  It’s also got quite a bit of vitamins B-6 and B-12, which is similar to things like 5 hour energy.  And I respond pretty well to that so I figured I’d like this.

The label says to take 1/2-1 scoop in 14-16 oz. of water 20-30 minutes before your workout.  I tend to be a little sensitive to PWO’s sometimes, so I decided to just take a 1/2 scoop the first day.  Honestly that was too much right away!  I kind of felt like the hulk with so much energy.  Needless to say I’ve since scaled it back a little bit to more like 1/3 of a scoop.  That seems to be about right.  But it has done a great job of giving me energy to get through my workout and I definitely feel less fatigued.  I didn’t notice a crash later, either.  That’s huge for me because I hate crashing later in the day at work.

Assault vs The Others – Assault Review

So how do I feel Assault stacks up to other PWO’s?  Well I have to say it’s one of my favorites.  I got a great pump from it, lots of energy and no crash later.  That’s really what I’m looking for.  I would say my other two favorites are 1M.R. and Energy & Endurance formula.  They all give me a good shot of energy without making me crash later.  1M.R. is probably the most intense one out of the three.  So those are definitely my favorite.  Assault does a way better job than C4 and Super Pump, the two others I’ve tried.  The only downside is the price.  The tub I got is only 30 servings, but it was on sale.  So I probably would always look for a sale on Assault, but I do think it’s worth the money.

Hopefully this Assault review was helpful, if you’re looking for a different PWO to mix into your rotation, this is a good choice!
